One of the results of globalisation through travel, migration, the Internet and social media is the increased availability, knowledge and use of ingredients and foodstuffs from every corner of the world. This is my attempt at gathering some of that information together. I will write about food in a general way, each post will either. focus on one, two or at most three individual specific items or sometimes on a general group of foods. One day my topic might be gorgonzola specifically and another it might be a general description of apples.
There will be some very broad suggestions about how something can be used and there will be some recipes but don’t expect a recipe on every page.I will however always include links to recipes to be found on other sites. I have no affiliation to any other website so the destination of any of those links will be more or less random although I don’t apologise if some bias creeps in.
In no way do I claim to be an expert. I have had an interest in food, some might say an unhealthy interest, since I was a teenager or perhaps even earlier. I have always sought out new goodies to tempt my palate and love the adventure of food. This interest is my only qualification so whatever I write is purely my opinion and you may well disagree, each and every one of us has a unique set of senses and perceptions so what I might describe as pleasantly sharp may be mouth puckeringly sour to others. There is no wrong opinions just different ones.
As I write this in October 2016, it is early days and such is the way with blogs, things will evolve and the end product may vary from this description slightly but I aim to keep generally to my idea of gathering food from across the globe, providing information, an opinion and some idea of what to do with that Japanese or Dutch delicacy.
This is my own personal food adventure. I hope it inspires yours and remember … the world is your hamper.
